Box 716, Smithville, TX 78957. Golf enthusiast, this paragraph is for you. In the local area there are 3 great golf courses. The first is Colo Vista, the areas newest golf course, next is Pine Forest at Tahitian Village, and finally, Lost Pines at Bastrop State Park. Our cabins are located one mile from scenic Park Road 1C, which connects Bastrop State Park and Buescher State Park. Park Road 1C is approximately 13 miles of scenic and winding road and is excellent for cycling enthusiast. Lake Bastrop Park (LCRA) is located 17 miles North of “Lost Pines” Cabins. If you follow the above link, look in the list for Lake Bastrop. This is the big lake in the area, with a boat ramp accommodating a variety of watercraft for sailing, canoeing, skiing and boating. The lake offers great fishing. The unofficial record for black bass is just over 12 pounds. The Colorado River flows thru Bastrop and Smithville. The river bridge in Smithville is approximately 4 miles from the cabins and has a cement ramp accommodating small boats and jet skis. There is a wonderful park in Bastrop called Fisherman's Park, which is on the Colorado River, and offers great wading for children and lots of playground equipment. Also, starting at Fisherman's Park and ending at Main Street, is a river walk along the Colorado River that is about 8 city blocks long. Butterfly Crossing is a unique gift shop located 5 minutes from the cabins on Hwy 71 East where you'll find over 130 different affordable and locally handcrafted gift items including birdhouses, purple martin houses, garden furniture, swings, and their famous butterfly feeder.
